Tumpak Sewu or Thousand Waterfalls is a hidden gem in the city of Lumajang. This stunning waterfall lies on the foot of the highest mountain in Java Mt.Semeru. Almost never touched by tourist, we call Coban Sewu as a secret waterfall in the East of Java.

The journey to Tumpak Sewu takes 2 hours from Malang city by car. This stunning waterfall considers as the most beautiful waterfall in Java or possibly in Indonesia. The main waterfall of Tumpak Sewu drops over 120 meters. The visitor can enjoy the landscape from the vistas point or if you are a big fan of outdoor, take a day trekking to go down to the main waterfall, cross the river, and explore hidden caves and its natural pool.

The best time to visit Tumpak Sewu is April until October in the dry season. In the wet season, the river stream quite danger caused by flooding and falling stones. A day walking not suitable for kids under 7 years old as the safety standard is very basic in Tumpak Sewu area. Because the trail sometimes is very slippy, wearing shoes or mountain sandals is preferable.
