Day 1: Welcome to Java

Today you will be greeted by our Javanese driver at Yogyakarta Airport and continue your journey towards the center of Yogyakarta to your hotel. Distance of 1 hour 15 minutes of drive.

Day 2: The heart of Yogyakarta - Taman Sari water palace - Prambanan temple - Sunset in Plaosan temple

Today your journey will start at 08:00 am. You will be welcome by your english or french speaking guide at your hotel. First stop will be in Beringharjo traditional Market, goes through the little alley to discover the locals daily life and some traditional morning sweets. 
Continue the morning by taking a Becak, a three-wheeled vehicle to explore the famous street of Malioboro towards the Taman Sari water palace.

After lunchtime your journey will continue to the grandios temple of Prambanan. Our guide will introduce you to the knowledge of Hiduism while admiring this phenomenal architecture. The day would end with a visit to Plaosan temple while enjoying the sunset, marking the end of this beautiful day. 

Day 3: Sunrise Borobudur temple - Selogriyo rice terrace

Your journey today will go towards Magelang 1,5hour drive to visit visiting the world famous Borobudur temple during sunrise. Our guide will guide you through its stunning architecture and wall of deep meaning history while learning the culture of Hinduism. This journey will take you back to hundreds centuries religion and history in a zen atmosphere.   
Continue the journey to Selogriyo rice terrace. A truly beauty of cascading rice fields stand tall on a high green hills. A refreshing walk, accompanied by friendly local people, and gentle warmth of the rising sun, is truly unforgettable. 

Day 4: Train to east Java - Tea plantation - Colorful village

Today early morning at 06.45 you will take a 4 hour train towards Surabaya. On your arrival you will be welcome by our driver who will accompany you for the next 4 days. First stop is at the Wonosari tea plantation. Located on the foot of Arjuna mountain you have a chance to explore tea fields, learn the tea-making process, and enjoy the local brews.

After this tea break continue to explore the city center of Malang to visit colorful village of Jodipan. Where you can promenade along the small walkway to explore the true local village in Java. The kids from this village, will be happy to accompanied your walk with their warm smile.
After this you will continue the drive for 2 hour towards your hotel in Pronojiwo village, nearby the Tumpak Sewu waterfall.

Day 5: Tumpak Sewu waterfall and water cave Tetes

The journey continues towards Lumajang. To one of Indonesia’s most stunning natural wonders, Tumpak Sewu. Often called the “Niagara of Java,” this majestic waterfall features a wide curtain of water cascading from a 120-meter cliff into a lush green canyon. Surrounded by dense jungle and dramatic cliffs. The exploration will end with a trek to the cave's unique rock formations and enjoy the refreshing cascades and natural pool.

After this, you will go towards your next hotel in Ngadisari village. Near your next stunning destination Bromo National Park.

Day 6: Sunrise and Bromo volcano national park

At 3 A.M our guide will take you on a hike under a thousand stars. The 1 hour hike will take you to the highest point to see the view of sunrise with the magical view of Bromo and Semeru volcano. Afterwards, you'll hike back down to your 4x4 and journey across the vast Sea of Sand to reach the crater of the legendary Mount Bromo. It's a day you’ll never forget. Bromo National Park is an awe-inspiring 8-hectare large with a touch of active volcano in a surreal landscape unlike anywhere else on Earth.

After the sunrise hike, today you will leave the village to continue your adventure to Licin village. The closest village to Ijen volcano.

Day 7: Ijen crater volcano - Drop off Ubud, Bali

This would be another highlight of your journey, a visit to Ijen Crater, or Kawah Ijen. It is a spectacular active volcano, standing at an altitude of 2,386 meters. It’s world-famous for its rare electric-blue flames, caused by ignited sulfuric gases. The crater also holds one of the largest highly acidic lakes on Earth, glowing a surreal turquoise color.

An active sulfur mine operates inside the crater, where local miners carry heavy loads of bright yellow sulfur by hand. A tough and fascinating glimpse into traditional mining life. The hike to the rim takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and rewards visitors with otherworldly views and an unforgettable adventure.

With your journey through Java coming to a close, our driver will escort you to the ferry port, where you’ll continue your adventure across with the ferry to the enchanting Island of the Gods, Bali. 
At your arrival in Bali, our taxi driver will be ready at the exit of the port to take you to your next destination in Ubud, Bali. It takes 4-5 hours of drive. Other destinations in Bali is available on request. Finally, your journey touch an end marking the unforgetable holiday in Java island.

When is the best time to visit Yogyakarta and Bromo Ijen volcano?

Yogyakarta is great to visit all year round. The main destinations are the city center and temples. We will provide guide during your visit here to better explain the rich culutre and history. Some guides who speak Italian, Spanish, French, etc.. are in high demand and limited. It is advised to book 3-7 month before the trip, especially during the high season July to September. 

We will book the entrance to full structure Borobudur temple, which is need to book in advance and the entrance is limited per day. The visit for sunrise on the temple of Borobudur is available with additional cost, this visit start at 3.00AM from your hotel in city center and entrance to temple at 4.00- 4.30AM.  The show Ballet Ramayana in Prambanan temple is also available on request with additional cost, this show available every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 19.30 - 21.30.

Tumpak Sewu waterfall better to avoid during rainy season. Rain in tropical Indonesia can be heavy and cause big flows from the rivers, it can also change colour of the falls to brown because it mix with soil. The massive panoramic view of Tumpak Sewu waterfall is easily reached by walk from the parking about 300 meters away. However the trekking down the waterfall is a bit challenging. It is advised to not do with little kids under 7 years old. 

The volcanic landscapes of Mount Bromo and Kawah Ijen offer a truly spectacular experience, best explored at sunrise between 4:00 - 5:00 AM, when the sky comes alive hues of orange, purple, and red, that can be witness with naked eyes. The ideal month to visit is during the dry season from June to September. However, even outside these months—when there is a chance of cloudy or rainy weather—the magic remains, from the vast Sea of Sand at Bromo to the striking turquoise acidic lake of Ijen. Is Bromo and Ijen safe to visit with children?
Yes, as long as the authorities make a decision to open Bromo and Ijen Crater, both volcanoes are safe to visit. Bromo is family friendly destinations. It doesn't require a lot hike, 3km easy walk from parking to reach the crater. There is an option to ride horse which make the walk easier. 

Here the things you need to know before visiting Ijen Crater and Bromo, both Bromo and Ijen Crater are quite cold in the morning, make sure you pack your warm gear on your holiday. Ijen Crater is not a good holiday option for a baby, people who have asthma and high-pressure blood as toxic gas may harm them. We will provide gas mask which will be necessary to explore the rim of the crater, sometimes the toxic gas can blow with the wind towards the trekking area which can be harmful without gas mask. 

Is Java safe for woman and solo traveller? Yes, even though the distance for every site is far to reach, Java is safe for woman and solo traveller. Especially for women is better to dress properly in Java and don’t show too much skin.
